Baseball, hockey and basketball clubs are all benefiting from the bobblehead craze. According to a report in Crain’s Cleveland Business, fans are making special trips to get a bobblehead of their favorite player and spend more money when they come to town. According to the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, the average attendance at Progressive Field has increased by as much as 15%. That means that, during the same 10-year period, bobblehead promotion increased attendance by 24%. As a result, total attendance at all 44 Cleveland Indians bobblehead promotions has increased by over 1.1 million fans.

One collector of bobbleheads, who kept track of every single lost batting helmet, has donated his collection to the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee. Manak, also known as ‘Bobblehead Bob’, compiled more than 1,500 bobbleheads over the years and donated them to the museum in honor of the deceased. He died of complications related to colon cancer, so it is important to remember that the collection will live on.
