The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has immortalized George Santos — the embattled Long Island congressman who’s become a cultural laughingstock thanks to a seemingly endless series of lies about his background. The organization says it received numerous requests for the Santos bobblehead, which includes a standard version and a variant with an elongated Pinocchio nose given the lawmaker’s “seemingly never-ending series of falsehoods.” The bobbleheads also play audio clips of alleged lies from Santos at the push of a button.
For some people, housing hundreds of bobbleheads is a hobby. For others, it’s a way of life. And then there are those like Mario Alcala Jr., who creates them at his Los Angeles home. Using an extensive supply of acrylic paint, clay, brushes, rags, molding tools and paper, he works from his kitchen table. The finished product is a likeness of the customer, which can include a variety of details or a full costume.
On Wednesday, the Bobblehead George crew appeared on ABC27’s Good Day PA. The show features local businesses, nonprofit groups and community events. In addition, the segment highlights local authors and features performances and cooking demonstrations. The entire video is available on the show’s YouTube channel.
