If you’ve been watching the news, you’ve probably heard about the owl that was rescued from the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Well, you can now own your own bobblehead version of the cute little critter. Thanks to the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, you can buy your own miniature Saw-whet owl. For $25, you’ll get a nice-sized bobblehead, as well as a little bobblehead-y gift, like a tidbit of information about the owl. You can pre-order your own Rockefeller bobblehead from the NBHMF’s online store. The good news is, you can expect to have your own little Rockefeller in February of 2021.
While the bobblehead doesn’t exactly make a splash in the tinsel town, you can rest easy knowing that your purchase will help the owl have a bright future. In addition, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and museum has announced a partnership with the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center, an organization that cares for wildlife and works to restore them to their natural habitat. Specifically, the organization will receive a $5 donation from each rockefeller bobblehead sold.
The NBHMF has a goal of donating a minimum of $6000 to the wildlife refuge over the next two years, and you can bet that this adorable owl will be a part of the equation. To celebrate the owl’s arrival, the NBHMF has teamed up with the Ravensbeard to put on a show for the public. This December 2 at 7 pm, the 75-foot Norway spruce will be lit up, and the public is invited to enjoy the spectacle. With over five miles of lights and extra branches, it’s guaranteed to be a sight to see. And, if you’re lucky, you might even spot Rockefeller himself.
Despite its limited availability, the Rockefeller bobblehead is a worthy contender for the best Christmas gift of all time. It’s not cheap, but you can expect to be the envy of your friends and family if you do manage to get your hands on one of these cute little owls.
