If you’re a Georgia Bulldogs fan, then you’ll need to act fast if you want to get your hands on this Uga bobblehead. It’s only available at the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s online store – and it’s expected to ship out this month. The bobblehead features the school’s mascot Uga X and depicts him sitting outside his doghouse in front of Sanford Stadium’s famous hedges. It’s officially licensed by the university and the NCAA.
This was the 10th Uga to lead the team and he helped the Dawgs compile a 91-18 record since his reign began in 2015, including back-to-back College Football Playoff national championships and two SEC titles. Like his predecessors, Que wore a varsity jersey and an on-field home, which is a permanent air-conditioned doghouse. When he retires, each Uga is buried in a marble vault outside the stadium. In 2019, Sports Illustrated named Uga one of the Greatest Mascots in College Football History.
The G-Day spring scrimmage on Saturday marked the end of an era for Georgia fans, as Uga X, known as Que, retired from his role as mascot. The English bulldog puppy, who began his tenure in a collaring ceremony during the 2015 season, was crowned as the winningest mascot in the school’s long history and left a legacy of success.
Que was the first dog to wear a horned helmet, which made him more visible to fans in and around the stadium, and he also ushered in a new era for UGA mascots by introducing an air-conditioned on-field doghouse for them to rest their heads during game days. He was a laidback mascot who loved taking photos with fans and was oblivious to the cheering that would erupt at games.
FOCO and the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Musuem have teamed up to create these officially licensed, limited-edition bobbleheads featuring Hairy Dawg in his red and white UGA football jersey. Each bobblehead is numbered out of 72 and retails for $40 each. Both bobbleheads also feature audio so that you can hear the Georgia fight song, “Glory” and “Hail to Georgia” with just the push of a button.
FOCO has also released a couple of pre-order bobbleheads featuring some of the top players for this year’s Georgia squad, including Stetson Bennett IV, Nolan Smith and Kendall Milton. You can check those out at the link below.
