National Bobblehead Day

Bobbleheads have been a beloved piece of sports memorabilia for decades. They’re often given out at games as a promotional item for fans or a way to honor an iconic team. They’re also popular collectibles and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Bobbleheads can commemorate sports legends, exciting movie and TV characters, or even your favorite cartoon character!

National Bobblehead Day is on January 7th. It’s a fun holiday that honors a unique piece of pop culture. It’s a great day to add a new figure to your collection or find the perfect gift for a special person.

You can find bobbleheads at most major league baseball stadiums during giveaway days. They’re usually limited editions, so you’ll want to get there early to avoid a bobblehead fight with fellow fans. Most teams have a variety of different bobbleheads to choose from, including current and former players and mascots. Some of them are even made by popular characters like Frank Sinatra and Sesame Street’s Elmo!

For a special Michiana twist, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled a bobblehead of South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg Friday. You can order a Buttigieg bobblehead through the Hall of Fame’s online store. The bobbleheads are $25 each, with a shipping charge of $8 per order. The hall of fame also has bobbleheads for Delaware State University mascot YoUDee, Cocky from the University of South Carolina Gamecocks, Rameses from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Tar Heels, and the President’s first cats and dogs, Commander, Champ, and Major.
